Sales of the updated Geely Atlas have started in Kazakhstan. The crossover received a revised design, a reworked interior and multimedia with Yandex Maps. For the first time for the model, telematics services are available in the base trim, and prices start at 11 million tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The front-wheel-drive Atlas in Premium trim is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 174 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch robot. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 9.5 seconds.
All-wheel-drive versions received a two-liter turbo engine with 245 hp, an eight-speed Aisin automatic and a BorgWarner all-wheel-drive system. They reach the first "hundred" in 7.9 seconds. Ground clearance is 211 mm, and there are also six driving modes, including settings for snow and off-road.
Prices for the all-wheel-drive Atlas start at 12.9 million tenge for Premium. The Flagship version costs 13.5 million tenge, and the top Exclusive – 13.8 million tenge.
Atlas retained the CMA platform, which Geely developed jointly with Volvo. The exterior was changed with a vertical chrome grille, new light graphics and a front bumper.
The length of the crossover grew by 36 mm, to 4,706 mm. Width is 1,900 mm, wheelbase – 2,777 mm. The five-seat interior provides a 650-liter trunk. With the rear seats folded, it increases to 1,610 liters. Under the floor there is an additional compartment of 67 liters.
The Flyme Auto multimedia system received a 15.4-inch screen with 2.5K resolution, support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Yandex Maps navigation in online and offline modes. A separate 10.2-inch display is responsible for displaying instruments.
Through the mobile application, you can start the engine, turn on the climate system and heaters, check the vehicle's condition, control locks, windows and the trunk. Depending on the trim, control of the sunroof and front seat ventilation is available.
Among the "warm" options are heating of the steering wheel, front and rear seats, windshield and rear window, as well as washer nozzles. For Kazakhstan, an increased-capacity battery, heater settings for quick cabin warm-up and enhanced anti-corrosion protection of the body and underbody are provided.
Standard equipment includes front and side airbags, surround-view cameras with a "transparent chassis" function, parking sensors and driver assistance systems. Among them are adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane keeping. Blind spot monitoring is available in Flagship and Exclusive trims.
According to G Motors Kazakhstan, from October 1 to 14, 112 pre-orders were received for the new Atlas. Of these, 33 customers want to switch to the model from the previous generation or Geely Coolray.
"We see the potential of the new Atlas beyond its class. For those who choose a compact crossover in a high trim, this is an opportunity to get a more spacious car in a comparable budget. For those considering larger models, it is an alternative worth evaluating by capacity, equipment and price," noted Muhammad Shamshilov, Distribution Director at G Motors Kazakhstan.
The warranty on Geely Atlas is six years or 180 thousand km.
Earlier, Kursiv Auto reported that Geely learned to charge electric vehicles in 4.5 minutes.
