The most coveted football trophy on the planet will receive a worthy "setting." The main trophy will be delivered to the stadium in New York and New Jersey, where the fate of the World Cup gold medals will be decided, in an exclusive case by French brand Louis Vuitton. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to NBC News, designers at the French fashion house created a true masterpiece by hand in their historic workshops. The case looks strict but very expensive. On the outside, you can see the brand's recognizable brown monogram pattern and sturdy corner protective fittings made of gilded brass.

On the front panel, a large gold letter V shines. It symbolizes two words at once — Victory and Vuitton. Inside the case, there is soft trim made of natural beige leather and a special patch in honor of the partnership between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.

The exact cost of this case is a secret. It was made in a single copy for FIFA and is not sold in stores.

However, experts note that regular Louis Vuitton travel trunks of this size cost from $20,000 to $50,000. An exclusive custom-made case for the main sports trophy costs several times more. However, the World Cup itself, made of pure 18-karat gold, is priceless, so expensive packaging suits it.

Louis Vuitton has been sewing "clothes" for the cup for the fifth time in a row. The fashion house has packaged the main trophy at the following championships:

  • 012010 in South Africa
  • 022014 in Brazil
  • 032018 in Russia
  • 042022 in Qatar
  • 052026 in North America

"For more than 10 years, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have been united by a pursuit of excellence. We believe that sport can inspire people around the world," said Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari.

Collaborations between luxury brands and sports have long become the norm. For example, jewelry house Tiffany & Co. has been creating the famous Vince Lombardi Trophy for Super Bowl winners in American football since 1967. Louis Vuitton also has a 10-year contract with Formula 1 — the brand makes cases for trophies of the most prestigious Grands Prix.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Argentine national team won a comeback victory over England in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup. The match in Atlanta ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of Lionel Scaloni's team.
