Since the beginning of the year, 3.5 million Kazakhstanis have received free medicines worth over 213 billion tenge. The Medical Insurance Fund assured that there are no financing problems, the annual budget is almost 350 billion tenge, and all invoices for the first half of the year to SK-Pharmacy have already been closed. According to the Fund, the FSMS allocated 348.7 billion tenge for outpatient provision of medicines. Of this, 190.5 billion tenge is within the framework of the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care (GOBMP) and 158.2 billion tenge under the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (OSMS).
The FSMS emphasized that the Fund pays for medicines only after SK-Pharmacy dispenses them to patients and provides supporting documents. Thus, as of September 22, 3.5 million Kazakhstanis had already received such free medicines worth 213.8 billion tenge.
The Fund added that all invoices for the first half of the year have already been closed. Thus, 108.4 billion tenge was paid for January–June. The next tranches will be transferred immediately after the eHealth Center provides fresh data for digital reconciliation.
Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the year, the FSMS transferred 1.6 trillion tenge to medical service providers under GOBMP and OSMS. Almost half of this amount was directed to advance payments to clinics.
In addition, the Medical Insurance Fund expanded the pilot of the Qalqan digital platform to 16 medical organizations. The system will combine planning, procurement, monitoring, and payment for medical care. They intend to complete the digitalization of all processes by the end of the current year.
