A tornado in the village of Pomas in southern France injured 39 people and damaged about 300 homes. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

According to local authorities, the tornado struck the village of Pomas on Monday, injuring dozens of people. Rescue teams are continuing search operations as the village lies in ruins.

Marie-Helene Bouissac, deputy head of the local government office, confirmed a total of 39 people were injured, including two in critical condition. No missing persons have been reported so far.

Some 300 homes were damaged, and emergency accommodation centers have been opened to relocate residents. The region was under a thunderstorm alert at the time.
