France has recorded its first 'fire-cloud' (pyrocumulonimbus) phenomenon. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.
A 'fire-cloud' is a powerful type of cloud formed by wildfires. It is usually observed during volcanic eruptions, but in recent years, due to climate change, wildfires have also been causing this phenomenon. The cloud contains ash, smoke, and toxic gases, and can produce lightning and rain.
This is the first such case in France. Scientists note that the phenomenon is linked to climate change.
