Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the "France, Arise!" party and a candidate for the French presidency, has promised to stop any financial assistance to Ukraine if he wins the 2027 election. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"I want to stop any financing, I support (US President Donald — ed.) Trump's efforts to establish peace... This situation is causing losses for the French," he said on LCI television.
According to the politician, France's financial support for Kyiv amounts to approximately 25 billion euros (about 28.7 billion dollars).
In his view, this has limited the Paris authorities' ability to keep fuel and electricity prices in check.
Earlier, Dupont-Aignan expressed regret over Paris's rejection of Russian gas after the conflict in Ukraine began, saying such a decision had severe consequences for French industry.
