Flydubai has suspended departures to Israel and flights from the country. Kursiv LifeStyle found out who obliged the carrier to take additional security measures and what else is known about the brawl among pilots on board a plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev demanded that Flydubai suspend its flights to Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post. The airline will not serve this route during the investigation into the incident.
Regev instructed authorities to find out how a pilot with Omani citizenship was allowed on the flight — a country that has no diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv. A ban on admitting such employees is stipulated in the ministry's agreement with Flydubai.
Meanwhile, new details of the incident have emerged. During the scuffle, the aircraft commander managed to open the cockpit door, and passengers saw the fight. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Trump's words that Israeli plumber Yaniv Hayon was the first to break into the cockpit. The man was defending his family. He neutralized the attacker and pulled the plane's control yoke up.
After that, the pilots who were flying on a business trip on board the plane entered the cockpit, leveled the aircraft and were able to land it.
Netanyahu put an end to rumors about the nationality of the pilots: the captain is Indian, and he is currently in serious condition in hospital. The attacker is an Omani citizen.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote that the investigation leans toward the idea of a terrorist attack on board the Flydubai flight.
