FlyArystan flight FS-7131 from Almaty to Pavlodar returned to its departure airport, while flight FS-7132, which was to fly from Pavlodar to Almaty, was canceled. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the airline, the reason was the lack of capability at Pavlodar airport to perform de-icing treatment of the aircraft.

"During the flight, due to the worsening weather in Pavlodar and forecast precipitation, it became necessary to carry out special treatment of the aircraft. However, since the airport did not have such capability, in order to comply with safety requirements, a decision was made to return the aircraft to Almaty," the statement said.

Why de-icing treatment is needed

During precipitation and when the air temperature is close to zero, ice, frost or snow may accumulate on the aircraft's surface. This adversely affects the aerodynamic properties of the wings and poses a threat to flight safety.

Treatment with a special fluid helps remove ice and snow from the aircraft's surface and prevent their reappearance. Therefore, in case of unfavorable weather conditions, such treatment is considered one of the important requirements for flight safety.
