FlyArystan has operated its first flight on the new international route Aktau – Urumqi. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The new route is aimed at strengthening transport links between Kazakhstan and China, as well as expanding opportunities for travel, tourism, and business trips. Flights are operated twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays, with return flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The flight schedule allows passengers to arrive at their destination in the morning and make the most of their day to explore the city.
"The first flight FS7661 departed from Aktau International Airport at 20:20 and landed in Urumqi today at 03:05 local time. The return flight departed Urumqi at 04:05 and arrived in Aktau at 05:20," the airline said in a statement.
A ceremonial event was organized at Aktau International Airport to mark the opening of the new route. Passengers on the first flight were treated to a festive program and gifts.
At Urumqi International Airport, the FlyArystan aircraft was greeted with a water cannon salute, a tradition in aviation. A photo session was organized for passengers and crew, and special gifts were presented to mark the opening of the new route.
In addition to launching flights from Astana to China, in June 2026 the airline opened a new route Almaty – Xi'an, complementing the Astana – Urumqi and Almaty – Yining routes.
