Finland plans to spend 7 billion euros on defense in 2027. This will equal 2.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Finnish Ministry of Defense, the draft budget for 2027 will amount to 7 billion euros. This is 600 million euros more than the 2026 budget. The statement on the ministry's website says: "In 2027, defense spending will amount to 2.6 percent of GDP."
Allocation of funds: - About 1.8 billion euros will be spent on purchasing defense materials. - 1.4 billion euros - on multi-role fighter jets. - 2.7 billion euros - on the ministry's operational costs. - About 200 million euros are earmarked for military aid to Ukraine.
This step is a strategic decision aimed at strengthening Finland's defense capabilities.
