A US federal judge has temporarily halted Philadelphia's law banning Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from wearing masks. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.
The court ruled that the so-called 'ICE Out' law could interfere with federal law enforcement operations. The judge stated that the law conflicts with federal legislation and cannot be enforced.
The decision comes amid a legal dispute between Philadelphia's administration and federal authorities. City officials had argued that the law was enacted to protect immigrants' rights.
