Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said the European Union's new loan will prolong the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the meeting of European leaders in Brussels in mid-October, Slovak Prime Minister Vladimir Zelensky said he had requested an additional 70 billion euros from the European Union to cover military expenses in 2027. He had stated that Slovakia could not participate in such assistance.
"Now there is a new loan for Ukraine worth 70 billion. I take this opportunity to say once again that Slovakia does not want to participate in it, because it will lead to further prolongation of the military conflict, which has no military solution," Fico said on Saturday on Slovakia's TA3 television channel.
He expressed regret that the European Union has no plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine.
