Chery demonstrated the unusual capabilities of the Exeed Sterra ET crossover, known in other countries as the Exlantix ET, in the Chinese city of Wuhu. The vehicle can move sideways and rotate around its own axis. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Feiyu intelligent chassis

The secret behind the unusual maneuvers lies in the Feiyu intelligent chassis. This is an integrated system that combines several components. The maximum wheel steering angle reaches 90 degrees. Thanks to this, the crossover can drive sideways, diagonally, and spin in place. During such a maneuver, the vehicle's displacement does not exceed 10 cm. The car can also enter a parallel parking space in one go, without moving forward and backward.

Tests

During the demonstration, the Exeed Sterra ET underwent several tests: it moved along a V-shaped section, maneuvered in concentric circles, and parked in a tight space.

The system's operation when one of the wheels loses contact with the road was shown separately. The electronics redistribute traction between the wheels, helping the car get out of a difficult situation.

Production timeline

So far, the technology is presented in a demonstration form. Chery did not say when the Feiyu chassis will appear on production cars or which models will be the first to receive such a system.

Sales in Kazakhstan

Sales of this model in Kazakhstan started in October 2026. The hybrid crossover is offered in two trim levels at a price starting from 21.6 million tenge. The top version received air suspension, and the claimed range reaches 1,180 km on the WLTP cycle.

Earlier, Kursiv Auto reported on how the Voyah Taishan drove in "crab" mode on a highway in China.
