Fewer than half of Europeans support Ukraine's early accession to the European Union. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The DPA news agency, citing a study by the German Bertelsmann Foundation, reported that 47% of EU citizens are ready to support Ukraine's admission to the bloc in the coming years, while 53% do not approve of the idea. RIA Novosti wrote about this.

Among the ten largest EU countries, German residents view Ukraine's membership in the union with the greatest doubt. Only 41% of German citizens support the country's rapid accession to the bloc.

The foundation's 2022 study showed that at that time the figure among the German population was 60%.

In Romania, the level of support for Ukraine's rapid EU accession was lower, amounting to 40% of respondents.

According to the foundation's data, 69% of Swedes support Ukraine's rapid accession to the EU. According to Bertelsmann, this is the highest figure among large European countries.

Also, 83% of Ukrainians express confidence that Ukraine will join the European Union in the coming years.

The study involved 16,800 residents from all EU countries. The agency did not provide exact data on the study's timing or margin of error.
