European Council President Antonio Costa arrived in Kyiv on Monday. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

He plans to discuss further support for Ukraine from the European Union. He announced this on the social network X.

"Just arrived in Kyiv for the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day. I am here to underscore the EU's unwavering support," Costa wrote.

The visit coincides with the European Commission's decision on Monday to approve an additional 6.1 billion euros for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine, including air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars.
