At least four planes across Europe were affected by bomb threats this morning: two in Poland (from the UK at 10:33, 10:58, 12:00 and from Denmark at 11:33, 12:59), one in Bulgaria (from Israel at 12:50), and one in Spain (from the UK at 12:44). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing The Guardian.
All four of them landed safely and are being checked by security services. It may be nothing, but is highly unusual (particularly after another alert yesterday at 10:44), so we are keeping a close eye on that.
Separately, we are keeping an eye on Berlin where Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is just arriving to meet German chancellor Friedrich Merz on his previously unannounced high-security trip to Berlin.
We should hear from them in the next hour or so.
The incident highlights heightened security concerns across Europe. Police and security services are checking each report and working to ensure public safety. The exact causes remain unknown, but authorities are considering all possible scenarios.
Information about which airlines operate the flights and how many passengers were on board has not yet been released. The situation at airports is stable, and flights are operating on schedule.
