The construction of Europe's largest multi-apartment building printed on a 3D printer has been completed in France. The 12-apartment building was erected in just 34 working days. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The project was implemented in the city of Bezannes in the Champagne region. The three-story building with an area of about 800 square meters is intended for social housing and became the first multi-apartment building in France fully printed using this technology.
During construction, a COBOD BOD2 3D printer on site printed the load-bearing structures and walls layer by layer using a special cement mixture. Only three operators monitored the process.
Initially, construction was planned to be completed in 50 working days, but the building's shell was printed in just 34 days. According to the developers, the entire project was about three months faster than the construction of a similar house built using traditional methods nearby.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Pfizer skyscraper in New York began to collapse, unable to withstand the new 11 floors.
