The European Union has amended Ukraine's plan for reforms necessary to obtain loan funds to reflect the previously agreed 8.3 billion euros, according to a statement from the EU Council. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In May, the Ukrainian parliament ratified a memorandum with the European Union on providing Kyiv with a 90 billion euro loan. The document stipulates a number of conditions for providing macro-financial assistance.

According to the agreement, the EU's macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in 2026 will amount to 8.35 billion euros and will be paid in several tranches. Conditions for receiving this assistance include abolishing tax exemptions on parcels from abroad and adopting a law on taxing digital platforms.

"Today the EU Council adopted a decision to amend the 'Ukraine Fund' and the related 'Ukraine Plan'... The amendments reflect additional financing of 8.3 billion euros for 2026, provided through the 'Ukraine Support Loan' agreed by the European Parliament and the Council in February this year," the EU Council statement said.

The document also states that Ukraine must carry out reforms to strengthen the rule of law and fight corruption to receive funding. Earlier, European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis announced that the European Commission and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding on providing Kyiv with a 90 billion euro loan for 2026 and 2027. In December, the EU decided to provide Ukraine with a 90 billion euro loan for 2026-2027.
