The European Commission on Friday transferred 2.9 billion euros to finance Ukraine's budget needs and the work of the state apparatus. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This is stated in a statement by the European Commission. Since 2022, total support for Kyiv from the EU and its member states has reached 227.4 billion euros.

"Today the European Commission allocated 2.9 billion euros to support Ukraine's financial needs and ensure the work of public administration bodies... Since 2022, the EU and its member states have provided support to Ukraine totaling 227.4 billion euros. Of this, 3.8 billion euros was provided from proceeds of blocked Russian assets," the statement says.

Of the funds transferred on Friday, 800 million euros were provided for the first time through the Ukraine Facility mechanism under the Ukraine Support Loan, whose volume for 2026-2027 amounts to 90 billion euros.

According to the European Commission, by the end of 2026, additional financial support of 33.7 billion euros will be available to Ukraine if the relevant conditions are met. Of this, 29.3 billion euros is envisaged under the Ukraine Support Loan, and 4.4 billion euros under the original Ukraine Facility program.
