The European Union has received another tranche from revenues of frozen Russian assets, intended to support Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Ukraine will receive another €1.4 billion. The European Commission clarified that these funds are the fifth tranche of such revenues.

According to official data, since the assets were frozen, they have generated about €8 billion in income. Of the allocated €1.4 billion, 95% will go to repay previously provided financial aid to Ukraine.

These funds are channeled through a loan program initiated by the G7 countries. The remaining 5% will be transferred to the European Peace Facility (EPF), which supports Kyiv's military needs.

The European Commission reported that the assets of the Central Bank of Russia remain frozen. Interest income from these assets is used, by EU decision, to provide aid to Ukraine.
