Since the beginning of the year, 33 international and 11 regional drug trafficking channels have been eliminated, and the activities of 3 clandestine laboratories have been suppressed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the National Security Committee, a total of 3.2 kg of heroin, 8 kg of methamphetamine, 70.6 kg of opium, 129.7 kg of hashish, 16 kg of hashish oil, 282 kg of marijuana, 156.5 kg of cannabis, and 56.4 kg of psychotropic substances were seized. Additionally, 20 tons of poppy straw raw material and over 3.8 tons of precursors were confiscated.
21 international anti-drug operations were conducted with competent authorities of foreign states. 114 citizens of Kazakhstan and 7 foreigners were detained on suspicion of committing such offenses, the committee said.
14 members of international criminal groups were apprehended on the territories of neighboring states.
