Yesset Baiken has been appointed akim of the Ulytau region, the Akorda reported. "By decree of the Head of State, Yesset Berikuly Baiken has been appointed akim of the Ulytau region," the statement said. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Yesset Baiken was born in 1986 in the Karaganda region. He received secondary specialized and higher education in "Finance" at the Kazakh Humanitarian-Law University. He completed his studies in "Jurisprudence" at Buketov Karaganda State University. He holds a bachelor's degree in law and finance.
He began his career in 2008 as acting leading specialist of the investment policy and planning department of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning of Astana. Later he worked as a leading specialist and chief specialist in the same department. In 2010, he moved to the position of chief specialist of the legal support and procurement department of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning of Astana. From 2010 to 2013, he was a chief specialist in the socio-cultural sector department of the Astana city akim's office. In 2013, he was appointed chief inspector of the Astana city akim. In the same year, he became head of the organizational and inspection department of the Astana city akim's office. From 2016 to 2017, he worked as an expert in the secretariat of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2017 to 2019, he was a state inspector of the state control and territorial-organizational work department of the Presidential Administration. In 2019, he served as akim of Nura district of Karaganda region. In the same year, he was appointed head of the apparatus of the akim of Nur-Sultan. From 2020 to February 2022, he was akim of Saryarka district of Astana. From February 9, 2022, until today, he served as deputy akim of Astana.
