In Pavlodar Region, one person went missing after a boat capsized on the Irtysh River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to information provided by the regional emergency situations department, a report about a boat capsizing near the village of Zhanauyl was received on 12 September.
Four people managed to reach the shore on their own. A man born in 1983 is presumed to have drowned.
According to rescuers, about 35 kilometres of the Irtysh riverbed have been examined so far. Divers have checked approximately 5,000 square metres of area. Specialists are also using echo sounders. Search operations continue.
The emergency situations department warns that when wind speed reaches 15 metres per second or higher, small vessels are not allowed to go on the water. It also notes that swimming in the water is dangerous to human life and health.
