International film projects and new technologies in cinema became the topic of a meeting between Vice President Yerlan Karin and cinema legend Jackie Chan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Along with the world-famous actor and director, the team of "Armour of God" took part in the meeting: foreign and Kazakhstani producers Esmond Ren, Rustem Omarov, Igor Tsai and Orynbasar Kudaibergenov.
State support and creative industries
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to new technologies, creative industries and conditions for realizing the creative potential of citizens. Major international projects help develop the domestic film industry and promote Kazakhstan as a filming location," Karin noted.
New technologies and the AI Film Festival
Separately, the participants discussed the use of new technologies in cinema. Karin spoke about the Astana AI Film Festival held in Astana, which was organized within the framework of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The competition for films created with the help of AI received over 8 thousand applications from 125 countries.

Yerlan Karin thanked Jackie Chan for his especially warm attitude toward Kazakhstan and wished all participants of the project further creative success.
Filming of "Armour of God: Ultimatum"
Filming of the saga "Armour of God: Ultimatum" with Jackie Chan is taking place in Kazakhstan. The star of world cinema again plays the Asian Hawk — a treasure hunter. In the new part, he will go in search of an ancient artifact.
Filming in Kazakhstan started in June. It was planned that the film would cover locations in Almaty, Almaty and Mangystau regions, as well as Astana and Turkestan. One of the key locations was Bozzhyra in the Mangystau region. Some scenes were also filmed in Hong Kong. For certain episodes, Jackie Chan flew to Baku.
Earlier, "Kursiv" wrote that residents of Aktau shared on social media footage of a mass scene with buses and a helicopter on the city's embankment. And in September, German actor Til Schweiger joined the filming of the film in Almaty.
