Vice President Yerlan Karin met with world-famous actor and director Jackie Chan. The meeting focused on international film projects and new technologies in cinema. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The meeting was also attended by the team of "Armour of God": foreign and Kazakhstani producers Esmond Ren, Rustem Omarov, Igor Tsai and Orynbasar Kudaibergenov.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to new technologies, creative industries and conditions for realizing the creative potential of citizens. Large international projects help develop the domestic film industry and promote Kazakhstan as a filming location," Karin noted.
Separately, the participants discussed the use of new technologies in cinema. Karin spoke about the Astana AI Film Festival held in Astana, which was organized as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The competition for films created with the help of AI received over 8,000 applications from 125 countries.
Yerlan Karin thanked Jackie Chan for his especially warm attitude towards Kazakhstan and wished all participants of the project further creative success.
Filming of the saga "Armour of God: Ultimatum" with Jackie Chan is underway in Kazakhstan. The world cinema star is again playing the Asian Hawk — a treasure hunter. In the new part, he will go in search of an ancient artifact.
Filming in Kazakhstan started in June. It was planned that the film would include locations in Almaty, Almaty and Mangystau regions, as well as Astana and Turkestan. One of the key sites was Bozzhyra in the Mangystau region. Some scenes were also filmed in Hong Kong. Jackie Chan flew to Baku for individual episodes.
Earlier, "Kursiv" wrote that residents of Aktau shared on social media footage of a mass scene with buses and a helicopter on the city's embankment. And in September, German actor Til Schweiger joined the filming of the film in Almaty.
