Turkey continues to make diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts in Ukraine and around Iran. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this at a meeting with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, the Turkish presidential administration reported. The meeting took place in Ankara on the sidelines of the NATO summit. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The sides discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues. "Turkey continues its efforts to diplomatically end the war in Ukraine and the tensions around Iran," the presidential administration's statement said.

Erdogan said Turkey and Slovakia need to step up efforts to further develop cooperation in trade and investment. According to him, expanding ties in energy and transport will benefit both countries.

In addition, Erdogan noted that Turkey continues its work to establish peace and stability in the Gaza Strip and to end the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, Turkey has repeatedly stated its readiness to mediate negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. Ankara maintains contacts with both sides, participates in organizing negotiations, and supports a ceasefire and a political-diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
