Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful first elections of deputies to the unicameral Kurultai during a telephone conversation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Erdogan expressed confidence that this historic event will contribute to the further socio-political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan. He also proposed to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the Turkish leader for his warm words and for the active mission of Turkish observers within international organizations. The head of state noted that the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country are aimed at building an advanced, modern and fair Kazakhstan.
During the conversation, the positive dynamics of bilateral relations in the spirit of unbreakable friendship and expanded strategic partnership were noted. Tokayev emphasized the importance of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Turkish President to Astana in May this year.
The parties discussed the schedule of upcoming international events. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev accepted with gratitude the invitation of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to a number of high-level meetings to be held in Turkey this year.
