Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and US President Donald Trump discussed the situation in Ukraine and coordination of further steps during talks in Ankara. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with state broadcaster TRT Haber: "Erdogan and Trump discussed the situation in Ukraine and the coordination of steps in this direction."

According to the Turkish foreign minister, the Ukraine issue was one of the main topics of the talks between the two leaders. However, the minister did not disclose other details of the meeting.

Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, Turkey has maintained ties with both Moscow and Kyiv, acting as a mediator. With Ankara's participation, agreements on grain and prisoner exchanges were previously reached. In addition, the Turkish leadership has repeatedly stated its readiness to host new negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
