The Astana City Police Department has commented on the conflict between the relatives of Yerbayan Mukhtar and a police officer. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Earlier, a video circulated on social media showing people blocking an official vehicle. At that time, a conflict arose between the relatives of the deceased Yerbayan Mukhtar and one police officer.
According to information provided by the city police department, police officers arrived to organize the transportation of the body of the deceased Yerbayan Mukhtar to the forensic medical examination center. The examination is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
"Police officers who arrived to perform their official duties faced resistance, and there were attempts to use force," the official statement said. Currently, an internal investigation has been launched. As part of it, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of the participants in the conflict, including the police officer seen in the video.
