According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there are no Kazakh citizens among those killed or injured as a result of the attacks in Riyadh. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Attacks on the airport

King Khalid International Airport in the capital of Saudi Arabia came under a series of missile strikes and drone attacks. Responsibility for the attacks was placed on Yemen's Houthis.

As a result of the latest massive attack, 12 people were killed and another 309 sustained injuries of varying severity. Among the dead are citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

Suspension of airport operations

Due to infrastructure damage, the air hub's operations were temporarily suspended, and flights were redirected to other regions. The Houthis declared Saudi Arabia's airspace a zone of military operations.

Major international carriers began mass adjustments to their flight schedules.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Saudi Arabia extended the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh following a missile attack that killed 12 people and injured more than 300. According to Associated Press data, the airport will remain closed at least until the evening of October 11. The strike is believed to have been carried out by Yemen's Houthis — an armed movement backed by Iran.
