European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud-Basso, during a meeting with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced that the EBRD's total investment in Kazakhstan is expected to reach €1.3 billion in 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan is one of the important countries for us. This year, the level of investment activity is very high. Agreements totaling over $1 billion have already been signed. Taking into account the projects being prepared, the volume of investments could increase to €1.3 billion by the end of the year. This will be the highest investment figure we have achieved since working in Kazakhstan," said the EBRD head.
Over the past thirty years, the bank has invested more than €11 billion in 354 projects in Kazakhstan. As a result, the country has become one of the EBRD's largest partners in the region. Currently, the development institution is financing 131 projects in Kazakhstan worth over €3.1 billion.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to support the formation of innovative ecosystems by contributing to the digital transformation of Kazakhstan's economy, added the EBRD head.
