The European Union and its member states have provided Ukraine with €220.3 billion in financial, economic, military, and humanitarian aid since 2022. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to data released by the Council of the EU on Monday, this aid underscores the leadership of the European Union and its member states in supporting Ukraine. The statement reads: "The EU and its member states are leading in providing financial, economic, military, and humanitarian support to Ukraine. To date, aid amounting to €220.3 billion has been provided."
Breakdown of Aid
Of the total €220.3 billion:
- 01€107 billion was allocated from the EU budget or secured by EU guarantees;
- 02€77 billion was directed to military assistance;
- 03€17 billion was spent on supporting Ukrainian refugees in the European Union;
- 04an additional €15.5 billion was allocated directly by member states.
Furthermore, €3.8 billion of the aid to Ukraine was financed from revenues derived from frozen Russian assets on EU territory.
Additional Funding
On Monday, the European Commission approved an additional €6.1 billion for the purchase of air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars under the EU loan of €90 billion for Ukraine.
