Information has spread on social media and in some media outlets that Russia is rerouting Kazakh oil from the Ust-Luga port on the Baltic Sea to the Novorossiysk port on the Black Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan provided a comment to a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent regarding this information. The ministry stated that it has not received official information from the Russian side about a decision to reroute Kazakh oil from the Ust-Luga port to the Novorossiysk port.
The ministry noted that it is conducting constant monitoring of the situation with the transportation and export of Kazakh oil in all directions, including the Ust-Luga and Novorossiysk ports.
Additionally, the ministry reported that Kazakh oil is exported in several directions, which allows for flexible organization of export supplies, taking into account the current situation in individual directions.
The ministry stated that it continues interaction with the Russian side and transportation participants on issues of ensuring the stability of Kazakh oil supplies.
