The Ministry of Energy and Shell are launching a pilot IT project to study Kazakhstan's subsoil. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Today, the ministry, JSC "National Geological Service" and Shell Kazakhstan signed a corresponding memorandum. The main direction of the partnership is the exchange of global best practices and digitization of geological archives on hydrocarbon raw materials.

The document establishes a permanent platform for joint training of specialists and comprehensive analysis of subsoil. The practical core of the memorandum includes the implementation of a pilot project to develop a modern geoinformation system. This digital platform will enable deep processing and interpretation of accumulated historical geological data.

Digitization is expected to pave the way for a deeper understanding of the republic's resource potential and increase the investment attractiveness of the industry.
