Kazakhstan's top tennis player Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from the WTA-500 tournament in Bad Homburg, Germany, due to health issues. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The Kazakhstani tennis player was scheduled to compete in the grass-court tournament, which runs from June 20 to 27. However, she decided to withdraw due to discomfort in her right hip.

"Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from the tournament in Bad Homburg due to some discomfort in my right hip. I need to consult with my medical team and further assess the situation before making any decisions about next steps. Thank you for your understanding and support," Rybakina said.

Following her withdrawal, the top seed status passed to Iga Swiatek. Wild cards were awarded to Katie Boulter, Eva Lys, Alexandra Eala, and Venus Williams.

Earlier, Rybakina had an unsuccessful performance at the WTA-500 tournament in Berlin, losing in the first match to Alexandra Eala with a score of 5:7, 4:6. Prior to that, she also exited the tournament in London, losing in the quarterfinals to Katie Boulter.

The next major event on the calendar is Wimbledon, whose main draw begins on June 29.
