On July 19, a severe hurricane with hail in the Pavlodar region damaged residential buildings, social facilities, and power grids. The regional governor Asain Baikhanov personally visited the site to assess the damage and check the progress of restoration work. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The most serious consequences were borne by the village of Kalkaman and the village of Kudaykol. Here, partial roof failures occurred in two multi-apartment and 47 private residential buildings. Also in Kalkaman, damage to facades and window units was recorded in two schools and a cultural and leisure center, as well as the collapse of interior partitions in several apartments of one residential complex.

In addition, due to the destructive elements, an emergency power outage occurred in 11 settlements of the cities of Aksu and Ekibastuz. On the EEC power line with a voltage of 220 kV on the Kalkaman–Kudaykol section, 8 supports were damaged.

To assess the scale of the consequences, the governor of the Pavlodar region, Asain Baikhanov, went to the site. The head of the region inspected the damaged facilities, met with residents, and held a meeting with the participation of heads of relevant departments, akimats, civil protection services, and utility companies.

"The head of the region instructed to complete the inspection of all damaged facilities as soon as possible, ensure the full restoration of power supply, organize the repair of roofs and other damaged structures, and provide necessary assistance to residents of affected homes," the akimat reported.

Currently, work continues to clarify the damage. There are no fatalities or injuries as a result of the hurricane.

Recall that on July 19, Pavlodar and the districts of the region were hit by a strong storm. The hurricane wind with gusts up to 20 m/s was accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.

Videos appeared on social networks showing the elements tearing off roofs, damaging buildings, cars, power lines, and other objects.

Later, a resolution on the introduction of a natural emergency regime in Ekibastuz appeared on the open NPA portal.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that six residents of the region, including three teenagers, sought medical help after the bad weather.
