In Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region, a laboratory producing synthetic drugs was shut down. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.

As a result of special operations, local residents — two brothers — were detained. They had set up large-scale production of "synthetics" in a garage equipped for synthesizing banned substances in the courtyard of a residential building.

During the search, over 10 kg of the psychotropic substance "alpha-PVP", 860 liters of chemical liquid, including a 300-liter reactor vessel, laboratory glassware, scales, and personal protective equipment were seized.

It was established that the suspects' actions were coordinated by a curator in the Signal messenger. He controlled the entire drug production cycle and left caches with precursors.

"A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 297-1 of the Criminal Code on the fact of organizing drug production. The organizers may now face punishment up to life imprisonment," the statement said.

According to police, the suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. Further measures are being taken to identify channels for supplying precursors, as well as other individuals involved in organizing the drug business.
