A new route for exporting Kazakh fertilizers to the United Kingdom has been opened, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy reports. Kazakh fertilizers have been shipped from Ekibastuz to the United Kingdom for the first time via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The multimodal transportation is carried out by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. "The route passes through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Then through the ports of Poti and Batumi, the cargo is delivered by sea to the British port of Felixstowe," the railway company said.
The new route increases export opportunities for Kazakh producers. Previously, the company organized export transportation of Kazakh products along the "Ekibastuz - Miami" route. Today, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy delivers cargo to the USA, UK, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic and other countries.
