Two-time Preakness winner, renowned jockey Robby Albarado has died at age 52. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.
A spokesperson for Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, said the track was informed of Albarado's death by multiple friends.
Albarado won the Preakness Stakes in 2020 aboard Swiss Skydiver. It was his second Preakness victory. He also won the race in 2002 aboard Menifee.
Other notable achievements in his career include winning the Oaklawn Handicap in 2013 aboard Cyber Secret. In 2010, Albarado worked out Dean's Kitten in preparation for the 136th Kentucky Derby.
Throughout his long career, Albarado competed in many major races and became a prominent figure in the horse racing world. His death is a great loss to the racing community.
