A calculator that helps determine a family's welfare level has become available in the eGov Mobile app. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
It was launched ahead of the transition to targeted provision of certain state support measures from January 1, 2027.
As clarified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the calculation is for reference purposes and does not in itself affect the assignment of social payments.
The new service allows users to review the assessment criteria and calculate the result based on data that the user enters independently.
«The methodology takes into account income, property and social circumstances: family composition, the presence of children, elderly people and people with disabilities. In total, more than 59 indicators across six areas are used in the assessment», the statement on the launch of the service says.
Earlier, «Kursiv» wrote that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Askarbek Yertayev, announced the launch of the calculator for October 16–17. The service should help citizens determine which of the five welfare categories their family belongs to: Based on the assessment results, a family is assigned to one of five categories: A — high level of welfare, B — well-off, C — satisfactory, D — economically vulnerable, E — economically and socially vulnerable. The official category is determined through the Digital Family Map based on data from government information systems.
At a briefing, the calculator's operation was tested on Yertayev's own family. After entering data on income and property, the system assigned it to category B — the well-off level of welfare. According to the calculation, the minister's family turned out to be better off than 91% of Kazakhstani families.
The Ministry of Labor also explained that the category is determined by a combination of factors, including employment, housing conditions, property and credit obligations. If life circumstances change, it may be reviewed.
