The pace of grain harvesting is twice higher than last year, the government reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The mass harvesting campaign began in all major agricultural regions of the country on August 15, 2026. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, grain crops have been harvested from 2.6 million hectares to date.
For comparison, in the corresponding period of last year, this figure was 1.3 million hectares.
"According to data as of August 17, the average yield was 14.6 centners per hectare. Positive dynamics are observed for the main types of agricultural crops," the message reads.
According to the government, within the framework of diversification, wheat acreage has been reduced by 875 thousand hectares. Nevertheless, the total volume of production is growing. This indicates an increase in yield per hectare and more efficient use of existing acreage.
For other main crops, 513 thousand tons of potatoes, 1.1 million tons of vegetables, and 1.6 million tons of melons have been harvested to date.
