The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has extended the anti-dumping duty on seamless pipes of corrosion-resistant (stainless) steel imported from Ukraine until April 29, 2027, inclusive. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the EEC, the measure was originally set to expire on September 6, 2026. However, a request was submitted to the EEC's Department for Internal Market Protection, and following its review, a re-investigation was launched on April 30, 2026.

"In accordance with the EAEU regulatory framework, the validity period of the existing anti-dumping measure is extended for the duration of the re-investigation. This investigation must be completed within 12 months from the date of its initiation," the EEC's trade bloc explained.

The anti-dumping duty on seamless pipes of corrosion-resistant steel from Ukraine, ranging from 4.32% to 18.96% of the customs value, was introduced by a decision of the EEC Board on January 26, 2016, for a period of five years. The EEC previously stated that this decision was made based on an application from producers within the EAEU territory. These include Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant JSC, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant JSC, Volzhsky Pipe Plant JSC, and TMK-INOX LLC.

In 2021, the measure was extended for another five years. "Domestic enterprises producing stainless steel pipes have sufficient production capacity and can fully meet domestic demand. Therefore, there is no threat to consumers, and the market is operating stably. However, if this measure is canceled, stability will be disrupted," said Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister for Trade, at the time.
