At the 32nd meeting of the EEC Consultative Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, chaired by Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev, the development of transport policy in the Eurasian Union was discussed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Main topic
"The main topic on the agenda was the preparation of the draft roadmap for the implementation of transport policy for the upcoming three-year period, 2027-2029," the statement said.
According to the participants, the measures included in the draft roadmap are based on the results of previous plans and serve as their logical continuation to achieve the goals of creating a single transport space and a common market for transport services in the Union.
Council in Astana
"The meeting participants discussed in detail the disagreements regarding the functioning of the draft document and decided to submit the document for consideration by the Council of Heads of Authorized Transport Bodies of the EAEU Member States, which will be held in October 2026 in Astana," the statement said.
The Consultative Committee discussed the progress of the current roadmap for the implementation of transport policy for 2024-2026 and the action plan for the implementation of the Declaration on the Eurasian Economic Path.
Approved analytical reports
Following the meeting, the following analytical reports were approved:
- 01on the analysis of the state of roadside services;
- 02on the digitalization of production processes in inland waterway transport and the introduction of electronic navigation maps;
- 03on the interaction of toll road operators included in the list of Eurasian transport corridors;
- 04on the implementation of the cabotage road freight transport program;
- 05on the analysis of the procedure for admitting carriers to international road freight transport.
At the committee meeting, draft procedures for the collection and exchange of meteorological and road data along Eurasian transport corridors were approved, as well as the list of transport infrastructure barriers on the East-West and North-South routes.
