Starting July 31, 2026, all trucks transiting through the territory of EAEU countries must be equipped with navigation seals, the Russian Trade Mission in Kazakhstan reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"Only certain categories of cargo specified in the decision of the EEC Council will be exempt from this requirement," the statement said.
The new requirements also apply to the following goods transported by rail: - alcohol and tobacco products; - sanctioned goods; - fur products, footwear and clothing; - electronics.
"Carriers, exporters and importers are advised to take into account the new requirements in advance when planning deliveries to avoid delays when crossing the border," the statement noted.
A navigation seal is an electronic device installed on a vehicle. It allows real-time tracking of cargo movement. The system increases the safety and transparency of transportation and also helps reduce the number of additional inspections.
The first phase of the system implementation began on February 11, 2026.
