Nearly Half of EAEU Foreign Trade Turnover Belongs to SCO Countries

Nearly half of the EAEU's foreign trade turnover belongs to SCO countries. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

EEC Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics Daniyar Imanaliyev noted that for the EAEU, the SCO is not just a geographical neighbor but primarily a priority partner. He emphasized that both associations are interested in jointly developing and coordinating actions in the Eurasian space.

The minister also stated that over the past five years, a comprehensive infrastructure for cooperation between the EAEU and the SCO has been established, and meetings at congress venues have become a tradition. Imanaliyev identified transport and logistics infrastructure, customs cooperation, industrial cooperation, energy, and digitalization as priority areas of cooperation.

The minister announced that on September 17, "EAEU Days" will be held at the SCO headquarters in Beijing. During the event, a plan of joint actions for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the EEC and the SCO Secretariat for 2027-2030 will be signed.

"Our main task is to find common ground and gradually harmonize regulatory approaches. I am confident that by maintaining a balance of interests and readiness for pragmatic steps, we can raise cooperation between the EAEU and the SCO to a qualitatively new level," said Imanaliyev.
