At a meeting of the Council of Heads of Accreditation Bodies of the EAEU member states, chaired by EEC Minister for Technical Regulation Alexander Subbotin, ways to prevent unfair practices in conformity assessment were discussed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Experts reviewed the draft rules of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and a set of measures to stop the activities of unscrupulous economic entities and prevent distortion of competition in the release of products, the EEC reported.

«By joining efforts of accreditation bodies, we can create a reliable barrier for bodies that do not conduct conformity assessment work in good faith and protect the Union's single market from unsafe products. We strive to increase transparency and strengthen confidence in conformity documents,» he said.

During the Commission meeting, participants made proposals on the timeframe for reviewing applications and the volume of requested information.

In addition, issues related to the unified register of conformity assessment bodies and the readiness of national systems for the transition to a new version, which is planned to be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2027, were discussed.

The Council of Heads of Accreditation Bodies of the EAEU member states was established in 2018 by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council as a subsidiary body of the Union for the development of accreditation in the field of technical regulation.
