The draft cooperation program between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) until 2029 was discussed by the head of the commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, and UNCTAD's temporary Secretary-General, Pedro Moreno. "We have established a good dialogue on trade, investment, economy, e-commerce, competition, consumer protection and sustainable development. I would also like to note the importance of the analytical work that UNCTAD carries out for the commission," said Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

Main areas of cooperation

According to Sagintayev, the main areas of cooperation with UNCTAD are economy, investment, trade, digitalization of trade and the development of ties between regional organizations.

Draft of the new program

"In 2026, the implementation of the fourth cooperation program between the EEC and UNCTAD will be completed. Currently, a draft of a new program for 2027-2029 is being developed," the statement said.

According to the heads of the organizations, the new program will give additional impetus to interaction and will make it possible to supplement it with new practical results.
