On October 5, ten years passed since the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam entered into force. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission. Over these years, trade turnover between the EAEU and Vietnam increased 1.9 times, from $4.3 billion in 2016 to $8.3 billion in 2025.
“Vietnam was the first country to begin developing the EAEU’s network of trade agreements. Currently, the republic remains one of the main partners for the union’s business community in the Asia-Pacific region,” the EEC noted.
According to the commission, the regular holding of meetings of the working bodies on the implementation of the agreement and high-level meetings makes it possible to adopt decisions on emerging issues and unlock the potential for further cooperation.
It was previously reported that trade volume between the EAEU and Vietnam increased by 90% over nine years.
