In Bishkek, on the sidelines of the SCO summit, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The meeting discussed further development of cooperation under the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam. According to Sagintayev, in 2016 trade turnover between the parties amounted to $4.3 billion, and in 2025 this figure reached $8.3 billion. Thus, over 9 years, trade volume increased by more than 90%.

The parties also noted significant potential for joint projects in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and new technologies. The meeting also addressed issues of strengthening transport and logistics links and improving trade procedures.
