The interim trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mongolia enters into force on July 22, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), from that day, customs duties will be eliminated or reduced for 367 commodity subheadings for each party. This accounts for approximately 90% of total trade turnover.

EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev called the agreement a unique document. "The agreement eliminates duties and introduces many other trade preferences for a wide range of products," the minister said.

Slepnev noted that EAEU suppliers will be able to deliver a wide range of goods to the Mongolian market without barriers, from dairy products, canned goods, and chocolate to automobiles, special equipment, metals, and other industrial products. "This is truly a unique agreement. For our part, we expect Mongolian exports, including meat products, cashmere, textiles, and a number of other goods, to enter our market. It is important for enterprises to actively interact during this anticipated period," he said.

According to the EEC minister, trade increased by a third in the first quarter of 2026, indicating continued significant business interest.
